10x Bausch & Lomb Lighted Magnifier | Fine Detail, Small Print, Hobbyists

10x Bausch + Lomb Lighted Coddington Magnifier – 40 Diopter

Is this magnifier good for very small print and fine detail?

Yes. The 10x lighted handheld magnifier makes this magnifier a good choice when you need to inspect a small area at high magnification, such as medication labels, fine print, coins, stamps, jewelry, electronics, model work, and other detailed tasks.

What makes a Coddington magnifier different?

This  10x lighted handheld magnifier uses a single thick glass lens with a central groove diaphragm to help produce a sharp, crisp magnified image. This design is commonly used for close inspection and fine-detail viewing rather than broad-area reading.

Who is this 10x lighted magnifier best for?

This magnifier is best for someone who needs high magnification for spot viewing rather than reading an entire page. Its compact lens and short focal distance make it especially useful for examining small details closely.

It may be helpful for:

• Low vision users who need stronger magnification
• Reading very small print or labels
• Medication bottles and package details
• Jewelry and watch inspection
• Coins and stamps
• Electronics and small components
• Crafts, hobbies and model work
• Quality-control and inspection tasks

Can this magnifier be helpful for low vision?

Yes. A high-power lighted magnifier may help some people with low vision from macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts or other causes of reduced near vision see small details more easily.

The built-in illumination can also help improve visibility when additional light is needed. Individual magnification needs vary, and this product is intended as a visual aid rather than a treatment for an eye condition.

Why choose this magnifier?

The Bausch + Lomb Illuminated Coddington Magnifier combines high magnification with built-in lighting in a compact handheld design.

Unlike a larger reading magnifier, the 10x Coddington is designed for close, precise viewing of a small area. That makes it a better choice for detail work and very small print than for reading long passages.

Which tasks are best suited for 10x magnification?

A 10x magnifier provides strong enlargement, but higher magnification also means a smaller viewing area and shorter working distance.

Choose this magnifier when you need to focus on a specific detail rather than view a large section of text at once.

For longer reading sessions or viewing larger areas, a lower-powered magnifier with a larger lens may be more comfortable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 10x too strong for everyday reading?

For most people, 10x is stronger than needed for ordinary reading. It is better suited to very small print, close inspection and detailed low vision tasks.

How close does the magnifier need to be?

The focal distance is approximately 1 inch, so the lens needs to be held quite close to the item being viewed.

Is this better than a standard handheld magnifier?

It depends on the task. A standard lower-power magnifier usually provides a larger viewing area. The Coddington is better when you need higher magnification and sharper close-up detail in a small area.

Is this a good magnifier for crafts and hobbies?

Yes. The combination of 10x magnification and built-in light makes it useful for fine crafts, jewelry, coins, stamps, watch repair or making, electronics, models and other precision tasks.
